TICKETS

Are there different ticket options? YES! There are full 3 day passes or single day passes available. We also have a special rate for students and children. If you are planning on staying overnight, you will also need to purchase camping or campervan passes. Click here for information on all our available ticket options.

Will there be gate sales? No. Tickets are only available online, so please ensure you have purchased any relevant tickets prior to arriving at the venue.

Do I need to print my tickets? You can either bring your printed ticket with you, or have your e-ticket ready on your phone.

CHILDREN

Can children attend the Festival? YES! Children are very welcome and under 5's are free. Accompanied children between 5 and 14 should buy a regular pass and can camp with their parent/caregiver for free. Children must be under the supervision of their parent/caregiver at all times.

BE PREPARED

Is the Festival weather dependent? The Festival will go on even if it is raining. So please come prepared for all types of weather - that includes sunscreen and hats if it is sunny and wet weather gear and gumboots if required.

What about health and safety? Remember that you are in nature and will be, at times, interacting with large animals. Please wear appropriate footwear and be mindful of your energy and behaviour. Take care of yourself, each other, and the horses.

​FOOD AND DRINKS

Will there be food and drinks available? YES! The Pizza and Coffee Shack offers wholesome vegetarian and vegan food from 8am till late.

How do I pay? Food and drinks are available for purchase by using festival tokens. Tokens will be sold in increments of $1 and $5 - so please bring cash or Eftpos to purchase your tokens from the Information Booth throughout the Festival.

Unused tokens can be refunded at the end of the Festival or left as a donation to Equine Pathfinders Foundation. 

What kind of food will be on offer? Some examples include:

  • 8" Pizza and Hot Meals $15
  • 10" gluten free Pizza $20
  • Barista coffee $5
  • Breakfast Muesli $8
  • Cakes and Baking $4 - $8

All proceeds go to Equine Pathfinders Foundation.

Is the water onsite safe to drink? YES! Natural freshwater from our bore is freely available across the site. Please be mindful of water usage and considerate of others and the land.

CELL PHONES AND INTERNET

Is there cell phone coverage at the Festival? No! There is no cell phone coverage at Dune Lakes Lodge. However, there are pockets of signal up the hill towards the campsite. There is a landline available for emergencies. Or alternatively you will find cellphone signal if you drive out of the property and back up Wilson Road towards the city.

Is there Wi-Fi available? We encourage all attendees to participate in a "digital detox" over the course of the Festival. We would love you to be fully present and in the moment in order to get the most out of your experiences during the Festival. However, for those of you who want to share the love online, we will have a "Wi-Fi Window" every evening between 7.00pm & 9.00pm when you will be able to access 100MB of data for free at the Coffee and Pizza Shack. (Wi-Fi will be made available in case of emergency.)

CAR PARKING

Is there parking available onsite? YES! Dedicated car-parking is provided near the entrance to the property and a short (approx 200m) walk from the Festival Hub. (Parking is provided on an "all care and no responsibility" basis. Please lock your cars and avoid leaving valuables on display.)

Can I use my vehicle to get around the Festival? No. For safety reasons, vehicles are prohibited from the Festival Hub. If you are camping, your gear will be transported from your vehicle to your tent site.

How early can I park and how late can I stay? Gates will be open between the hours of 8:00am and 9:00pm. There will be Volunteers at the gate between 8am and 12pm to direct you where to park.

ACCOMMODATION - TENT CAMPING

Can I camp at the Festival? YES! There are limited tent sites available on a per person basis. Book yours here. Campsites are located a short distance (approx 50 metres) from the Festival Hub.

May I keep my car by my tent site? No. Dedicated car-parking is provided near the entrance and your gear will be transported to and from your tent site.

What facilities are there at the tent sites? Camping facilities are basic with BBQ's for cooking & access to hot showers & composting toilet facilities. We have a TOTAL FIRE BAN everywhere on the property due to the hot summer conditions and close proximity to Woodhill Forest.

ACCOMMODATION - CAMPERVANS

Can I bring my campervan? YES! Limited campervan parking (20 spaces) is available within 100m of the Festival Hub. Spaces are available on a per person basis. Book yours here.

Are there any restrictions on the size/type of campervan I can bring? Yes. Campervans may not be more than 6 metres in length and must have adequate ground clearance to access paddocks. Larger vehicles will not be granted entry.

Will I be able to move my campervan after I have parked? No. Once in place, campervans may not be removed from the camp area until the end of the Festival.

What facilities are available for campervans? Campervan facilities are basic with hot showers and a composting toilet. No kitchen facilities are available to van campers presupposing your van has those facilities. Campers who wish to prepare meals are expected to be self sufficient in terms of portable gas cooking facilities. We have a TOTAL FIRE BAN everywhere on the property due to the close proximity to Woodhill Forest. 

ACCOMMODATION - OTHER

What other accomodation options are there in the area? There are many different accommodation options available outside of the venue. Some of these include:

GENERAL RULES & HOUSEKEEPING

What should I do with my waste/rubbish? Please be considerate of others and the land. Use toilets provided and either use the bins provided for rubbish/recycling/compost OR take all of your own rubbish home with you

May I bring glass bottles? NO! Bringing glass is prohibited as - if broken - it can pose a major risk to the horses who roam freely around the property. Please remember, you are in the horses home.

May I bring my dog? No. Sorry, no dogs allowed during the Festival.

May I light a camp fire? We have a TOTAL FIRE BAN everywhere on the property due to the close proximity to Woodhill Forest.

Can I smoke/drink/take drugs during the Festival? Smoking is not permitted within the Festival Hub. (We have a TOTAL FIRE BAN everywhere on the property due to the close proximity to Woodhill Forest.) This is a low alcohol event - no alcohol will be sold on site. Illegal substances are prohibited.

Are there shops nearby? The closest supermarket, fuel, pharmacy, etc. is at Helensville and approximately 20 minutes drive from the venue.

What are the access roads like around the property? The majority of the distance between Auckland an Dune Lakes Lodge is sealed road/highway. However, Wilson Road is gravel, so please drive slowly and carefully to ensures you arrive safely.

OVERSEAS/NON-AUCKLAND BASED VISITORS

I'm flying in from outside Auckland - what's the best option for me? We recommend hiring a campervan for pickup on arrival at Auckland International Airport. This will be a cost effective way to have both transport and accommodation. Here's a google search of providers that may be helpful. Remember to book your campervan parking for the festival here.
